I love the Faux Tile Technique and think it is just perfect with the Quilt Quips stamp set.  Add the punched 1/4" circles at the junction of the tiles and it just pops it more!  A quilt...in moments!

Begin this card by scoring faux tiles using your bone folder.  Stamp the Quilt Quips quilt squares with StazOn ink and color in with Watercolor Pencils then blend colors with Blender Pens.  Cut out squares and layer onto Pacific Point and Chocolate Chip squares.  Punch hout 1/4" circles of Riding Hood Red card stock and place onto intersections of scored faux tiles using Tombow Multi adhesive.  Stamp and layer on greeting and quilt squares using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Enjoy!

You can see my summer posts are a bit far between, well it's the joy of a busy life so I hope you enjoy the samples that do get posted and are understanding of the many priorities most of us face!

I really think that this is a much better use for bleach than doing laundry!  This card features the Coloring with Bleach Technique.  Stamp a line art image onto card stock using Black StazOn ink.  Use a Blender Pen dipped in normal household bleach to color in the stamped image.  (Note: the Blender Pen you use ink with will need to stay a bleach pen so mark it with a label, this is a great way to use a Blender Pen that has started to dry out!)  Color in the flower centers using Riding Hood Red ink and a different Blender Pen.  Adhere the layers together once the bleach is dry.  Bleach will react differently on different colors of card stock so test out our card stock color before beginning your project.  Don't you agree this is mor fun than laundry!  :)

Supplies:
Stamps:  Polka Dot Punches, Think Happy Thoughts

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango

Paper: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White & Tangerine Tango Prints DSP
Accessories:  1 3/4", 1 3/8", 1 1/4", 1" & 3/4" Circle Punches, Stampin' Dimenstionals, Sponge Dauber, 1/16" hole punch, SNAIL, Mini Glue Dots, Fine Cosmo Stampin Glitter (Turquoise), and Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 Texturz plates (love 'em!).

Instructions:
Going graphic this week!  Two of my favorites, one old and one new...my old favorite...punches, of course, and a new favorite the Texturz Plates for the Big Shot!  Begin with a standard sized card in Baja Breeze.  Layer on a 4" x 5 1/4" Chocolate Chip card stock.  Add a 1" x 4" strip of Tangerine Tango Prints DSP.

Run the following card stock through the Big Shot with specified pattern from the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds Pattern 1 Texturz Plates. (I used two pieces of card stock added to the "sandwhich" to get extra texture).  Then punch out with the circle punch listed, just one of each.

-Baja Breeze card stock with harliquin pattern - 1 3/4" Circle Punch

-Baja Breeze card stock through with the small dot pattern - 1 1/4" Circle Punch

-Tangerine Tango card stock through with the large dots pattern - 1 3/8" Circle Punch

-Tangerine Tango card stock with the harliquin pattern - 1" Circle Punch

-Kiwi Kiss card stock, no texture - 3/4" Circle Punch and 1 3/8" Circle Punch

Stamp the floral (scallop) image from the Polka Dot Punches Sale-a-Bration stamp set and a greeting image from the Think Happy Thoughts stamp set with Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Punch out each image using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  Use a Sponge Dauber to  daub a bit of Tangerine Tango onto the center of the stamped floral image.  Layer the image onto the 1 3/8" Kiwi Kiss Circle.  Layer the 3/4" Kiwi Kiss Circle onto the center of the punched out greeting.  Place a Mini Glue Dot on top of a silver (or other) Brad.  Smash it a bit with the Glue Dot paper strip or your fingers.  Press the Mini Glue Dot into Stampin' Glitter.  I loved the great color of the Turquoise from the Fine Cosmo collection.  Press the glitter into the Mini Glue Dot firmly.  Use a 1/16" hole punch to punch the center of the Kiwi Kiss 3/4" circle and attach the brad.  Now to put it together.  Layer the 1 3/4" Baja Breeze circle onto the 1" wide strip of Tangerine Tango patterned paper.  Layer on the 1 3/8" Tangerine Tango circle.  Use a Stampin Dimensional to adhere the layerd floral image on.  Layer on the 1 1/4" Baja Breeze circle then the 1" Tangerine Tango.  Finally use a Stampin' Dimensional to add the layered greeting with the beautiful glittery brad.  Done!  Graphic, a bit retro and very fun!  If you put a 1/4 sheet of card stock through each time you do a textured pattern you can punch enough pieces for 6 cards!  So go for it and make a few extra to send or give as a gift!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Snow Burst

Ink: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey, Bashful Blue

Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Medium Whisper White Enbelope, Vintage Brad, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Small & Large Tag Punches, Round Tab Punch, Crimper tool

Instructions:
This week I have another Christmas surprise!  Did you know you could make this adorable card with an envelope?!?  Really!  Start with on Whisper White Medium Envelope (the Stampin' Up! ones work better than the cheapies since they are thicker and take the ink better).  Seal up the envelope like you are going to mail it.  Cut 1 1/2" off the long side of the envelope.  Set the 1 1/2" piece aside.  Stamp the larger envelope piece with the snowflake images.  (Or a Stampin' Around Wheel works great).  Take the larger piece and run it through the Crimper Tool.  The open part of the envelope needs to be to the side so the crimped lines run perpendicular to it.  Once the envelope piece is run throught the Crimper it is narrower than it started out...not the 1 1/2" piece you set aside can fit over the opening like a lid!  Stamp snowflakes on a strip of Pacific Point card stock and adhere it to the lid.  add your greeting punched out and layered with the Small and Large Tag punches.  Cut a piece of Baha Breeze card stock to 4" x 4".  Add a tab to the top and slide into the envelope pocket.  This is a great way to make a gift card more personal!  Or slip in a package of cocoa or tea to help warm a loved one.  I hope you use this idea to spread some Christmas Cheer!   Enjoy!

Instructions:
This week I have some fun whimsey to get us in the mood for Christmas!  Punch art is always a fun way to make us crafters go "ooh" and "ahh".  Begin by creating a card body with Whisper White card stock.  Create a layer 1/4" smaller than your card front using Blush Blossom card stock and adhere to card front.  Use the crimper tool to crip a 1" strip of Whisper White card stock for the hat band.  Adhere it and  a triangle of Real Red card stock.  Now use upnches to create the face.  I began by placing the hat, face and the beard last.  The 1/2" circle for eyes, the 1" circle for mouth (cut in half) and nose, the 1 1/4" circles for the beard (adhere to card body and then trim off extra from edges with scissors or paper trimmer) and the 1 3/8" for hat pom-pom, eyebrows and mustache.  Add a little rosieness to Santa's cheeks and nose with a Stampin' Sponge and a twinkle to his eyes with the Signo Gel Pen.  You now have a card guaranteed to bring a smile, even to a grinch, enjoy!

Ink: Old Olive

Paper: I Wish Simply Scrappin' Kit

Accessories: SNAIL, Brad-Silver, 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon & Stampin' Dimensionals

Instructions:
Don't you just love it when you can take a great stamp set and use it in an unexpected way?  I do!  This adorable, silly spider is created using the Upsy Daisy Stamp set...yes it's a flower!  How fun is that!  To make this super-fast card begin with a standard sized card body in Tangerine Tango.  Use the brush end of a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to color directly onto the tallest flower image from the Upsy Daisy stamp set.  Huff on the ink to be sure it is moist and then stamp the image upside down on the lower right hand corner of the card front.  Use the Stampin' Write Marker to draw a line from the spider towards the top of the card.  Layer DSP onto Basic Black card sock strip.  Add a black Vintage brad to each end and adhere to card front.  Stamp Happy Halloween saying from All Holidays stamp set onto scrap Whisper White card stock.  Punch out using the new Wide Oval Punch, center the punch so the saying is all the way to the right hand side of the oval.  Punch a scrap piece of So Saffron card stock with the Wide Oval Punch.  Move the punch over about 1/4" to the left and punch again to create a crescent moon shape.  Use the Stampin' Write Marker or a sponge to color the edges of the So Saffron crescent moon shape and the Whisper White oval with the Happy Halloween greeting.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the crescent moon to the left edge of the oval and to adhere the oval to the card front.  Use Tombo Multi to adhere two google eyes onto the flower to turn it into a spider!  Happy "not-so-spooky" Halloween!  This card is part of the Wide Ovals Workshop class available in My Store!

Instructions:

I was asked to help support our local (Carbon Valley) Relay for Life by designing and creating 110 cards for invitations and 110 tags that will be attached to tree saplings and given to the survivors.

What an honor to be able to help such a great cause. One of the reasons I love what I do so much! I was very pleased to be able to help.

The Relay for Life is part of the American Cancer Society and their color for the event is purple so I went very purple with Elegant Eggplant. I hope the survivors enjoy a lift when they receive the cards as their invitations to the event and then again at the event when they get their trees!

Thanks to Sara for all your work with Relay for Life and to Kara, Lori, and Lois for helping with the cards!

So here is how to make the card!  Cut Elegant Eggplant for a standard invitation sized card.  Stamp the large flower image from the One of a Kind stamp set on Whisper White using Elegant Eggplant for stamping and sponging the edges.  Stamp small starburst image using So Saffron ink into the center of the large flower image.  Layer onto Barely Banana card stock.  Place Whisper White Grosgrain ribbon behind Barely Banana card stock and layer onto the card body.  Stamp "You are one of a Kind" greeting on the card using Elegant Eggplant.  In a small squeeze bottle mix Dazzling Diamonds and Crystal Effects.  Place mixture over center of flower and allow to dry.  Beautiful dimension and sparkle and no mess!

To make the tag stamp a tree image from A Tree for All Seasons stamp set onto Whisper White card stock.  Color with Stampin' Write Markers, layer onto Certainly Celery card stock and then layer onto Elegant Eggplant card stock.  Punch the Elegant Eggplant card stock with the double rectangle punch and thread through Whisper White Grosgrain ribbon.
