Today I’m answering a question about how to re-ink ink pads.
It’s a great question and so I thought I’d share the answer with you along with some of my favorite tips on how to re-ink both felt and foam pads.
There’s a video below that shows exactly how I like to re-ink ink pads and what I look for.
One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! is that you can use ink refills to re-ink all of the ink pads when they get dry from use or just over time. This saves you money and tons of waste, too!
Although, most of the pads take a really long time to dry out. I even left one open overnight and it was still perfectly usable the next day- oops! – although I wouldn’t recommend it!
Ink Refills
Ink refills are sold individually or in Color Collection groups. I recommend buying them when you buy an ink pad so it’s easy to keep track of what you have and so that you have the refill when you need it.
Plus, the reinkers are awesome for a variety of stamping techniques, but that’s another post for another day! 😉
Types of Ink Pads
When it comes to re-inking ink pads, it’s important to look at the different types of pads. The Classic Ink Pads are foam pads, while Memento, StazOn, and Stampin’ Spots are linen pads. Because the stamping surface is a bit different you’ll re-ink them a bit differently.
